Commercial electrical contractor hard at work for intelligence unit AUSTRAC

April 29, 2016

One of the rewarding things about being a leading commercial electrical contractor in Melbourne is the diversity of clients you get to work with across a broad range of projects. And we’re delighted to add the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre to our growing list.

AUSTRAC, Australia’s financial intelligence unit, has regulatory responsibility for anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing. The centre protects Australia’s economy, identifying criminal acts and threats to the financial system. There are several offices across the nation including in Melbourne.

While Alert Electrical is happy to leave crime fighting to the experts, we have no problems using our own specialty skills when called upon for help. So when AUSTRAC tasks us with a range of electrical work at their Melbourne premises, we roll up our sleeves.

Our brief included:

  • Supply and installation of new power outlets.
  • Adjustment of existing power outlets in re-layered inter-tenancy walls.
  • Adjustment of soft power cabling to existing workstations to meet amended plan layout.
  • Provision of specified comms rack, new class B security, ventilated with 3 x 24 port rack-mounted patch panels.
  • Wiring reconfigurations.
  • And provision of 24 data points of 2 x RJ45 port each throughout the tenancy area with Cat 6A cabling.

Alert Electrical is no stranger to working with government and commercial entities. From defence and law enforcement clients to large developments, our team of experienced and qualified electricians has built a name as a quality commercial electrical contractor. It’s that reputation that makes clients including AUSTRAC keen to involve our crew in their electrical projects.

If you are after a leading electrical contractor in Melbourne, please don’t hesitate to contact us at Alert Electrical. We tackle projects of all sizes with professionalism and demand high standards across all aspects of our work.
