The refurbishment of six lecture theatres designed in 1967 by Sir Roy Grounds. The scope was to improve the look and feel of the interiors, improve user comfort and
operational standards with regards to lighting and acoustics. The interior fit out responds to the curved geometry of the built form and imbues the interior with color and texture to give each lecture theatre its own individual identity. Refurbishment works were completed across six lecture theatres at La Trobe University’s Bundoora campus.
La Trobe University awarded the lighting and smoke upgrade project directly to Alert Electrical as head builder. Works commenced in December 2012, we were challenged with an extremely tight time frame to complete works while students were not in attendance to avoid disruption at this very busy lecture precinct. Alert Electrical was able to complete these works ahead of schedule, cementing a very positive relationship and trust with the Facilities Department & Operations teams.
